Daventry District Council
This 6.1 acre site is located on the northern edge of Weedon Bec, a large village in Northamptonshire (Daventry District).
Planning permission for up to 47 units was originally refused at Planning Committee in October 2018, despite the support of Weedon Parish Council. The Parish Council were particularly supportive of the type of housing being offered as part of the scheme, specifically the opportunity to deliver affordable housing and bungalows for the village. Following further evidence provided within an updated Housing Needs Survey demonstrating a local need for more affordable and smaller housing, planning permission was granted in December 2019 following a resolution to grant planning permission at planning committee in September 2019 for up to 47 dwellings. A planning agreement was negotiated following the resolution to grant planning permission which secured benefits such as 19 (40%) affordable dwellings, and over £250,000 of financial contributions to local infrastructure in addition to Community Infrastructure Levy.
