This 45 acre site is located to the east of Saffron Walden, an attractive market town, offering convenient access to a variety of services and facilities.
Following selection by the landowner, Rosconn immediately commenced preparation of an outline planning application due to the local authority’s significant housing land supply shortfall. The application was submitted on 4th August 2021.
The illustrative masterplan was informed by early engagement and dialogue with a variety of stakeholders including technical consultees to de-risk the application process and ensure the scheme was deliverable.
The masterplan incorporates a high quality mix of much-needed new homes, including 40% affordable housing. Other benefits include delivery of 55% of the site area as new publicly accessible open space including play areas as well as new parkland and woodland; a network of attractive pedestrian and cycle routes; and new bus stops along Radwinter Road. Existing footway provision will be extended along Radwinter Road to provide convenient and sustainable pedestrian access into the town centre.
Now the planning application has been submitted Rosconn looks forward to working with the local planning authority and other stakeholders in progressing it towards a positive demonstration.
